Nikon Corporation/Nikon Inc. (individually and/or collectively, the “Company”, “us” or “we”) collects and processes personal data of those who are in the United States of America as a data controller in accordance with the data protection and privacy laws and regulations applicable to us in the United States of America. In accordance with applicable laws and in support of efforts to develop and improve the Company’s products and to improve the quality of our Nikon ID services to you , we wish to notify you of both details of certain data processing activities involving your personal data and your rights by providing you with this Nikon ID United States Privacy Notice (this “Nikon ID U.S. Privacy Notice”). This Nikon ID U.S. Privacy Notice is applicable only to the Nikon ID service offered by Nikon Corporation (the “Nikon ID Service”).


We ask that you carefully review the Nikon ID United States Privacy Notice in the Annex. For residents of California, the Annex is provided to you as a California privacy notice in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (including all amendments thereto, including Proposition 24, the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”), the “CCPA”). For residents of U.S. States other than California, the Annex serves to provide you with information regarding how we process your personal data, in order to maximize, for your benefit, transparency pertaining to our data protection and privacy compliance practice.


We do not permit registration for and/or use of the Nikon ID Service by, and do not knowingly collect personal information from, individuals who are minors and are under the age of consent under the laws of the applicable U.S. state of residence.

    Nikon Corporation/Nikon Inc. (individually and/or collectively, the “Company”, “us” or “we”) takes your data privacy seriously and will therefore only process your personal information for the purposes set forth herein.

    Our Collection and Use of Personal Information

    The categories of personal information, including sensitive personal information, that we intend to collect in connection with such efforts, together with the business purposes for our collection of such information, and the lengths of time we retain such information (or applicable retention criteria), are set forth in the table below.


    We do not “sell” or “share” any of the above personal information about you (as such terms are defined within the CCPA and/or Additional State Privacy Laws, as defined below in this Nikon ID U.S. Privacy Notice), but we will at times disclose certain categories of personal information to our service providers and affiliated group companies for the purposes described below. In connection with the Nikon ID Service, we do not use tracking technologies (such as “cookies”) for purposes of cross contextual/targeted advertising.

    The terms “personal information,” “personal data,” “sensitive personal information,” “sensitive personal data,” and substantially similar terms used in this Nikon ID U.S. Privacy Notice shall have the meanings given to such terms in the CCPA and/or Additional State Privacy Laws (as defined below), as applicable.
